Olympics Day

It's Olympics Day on Thursday 3rd August. Room 8 are representing Japan!!! Please wear red and white sports clothes for the day!!

Go Japan!!!

Dear Parents/Caregivers

Halsey Drive will be holding an Olympic Day on Thursday 4th. August (save day Thursday 11th August), to help our students become involved with the Rio Olympics and as part of our ongoing commitment to health and fitness.

As part of the senior school maths strand of statistics last term, data was collected on the international backgrounds of our students, their parents and grandparents. We have links to an astonishing number of countries - over 30 around the world. The most connected 18 countries were chosen and allocated to classes, picked out of a hat by students. Students will be finding out about their given country and will be encouraged to dress in the colours of their flag.

The day will begin around 9.15am and run for almost the whole day. Hopefully the results will be calculated in time for medals to be awarded on the day. If not, they will be given out at assemblies held on the following day.

We hope that parents and caregivers will come along at some point in the day to support their child and the country that they are representing. Unfortunately only one room could be the Kiwi team!
